Woodleaf Camp, Supporting Adventure
Fund 14 new helmets and harness sets for the Woodleaf ropes course, keeping 2,500 campers and leaders safe this summer.
The need
Kid issues include poverty, corruption, hunger, and lack of resources in natural disasters. Young people are caught in the middle of this crisis. They are looking for role models and seeking answers to their suffering and needs. Many turn to gangs or prostitution for survival.
The opportunity
Like many YL properties, Woodleaf in Northern California has a ropes course designed to encourage kids out of their "comfort zones", thereby setting up conversations to explore their openness to Christ. New helmets and harnesses are needed and will provide safety and security while our friends "step out" and experience the Woodleaf ropes course. For nearly 60 years Woodleaf has been the most diverse property in all of Young Life. On any given week campers will include inner-city, suburban, international, Capernaum, YoungLives, and YL One kids, together, immersed in the hospitality and love of Jesus with their leaders, having "the best week of their life". These helmets and harnesses provide one aspect of YL's excellence in camping.
The plan
To provide 14 new helmets and harness sets for the ropes course to meet the needs for 2,500 campers and leaders this summer.

These helmets and harnesses are one aspect of Young Life's excellence in camping, and your vote funds a full set of 14.

Fund nine partial scholarships sending military teens to a week of Young Life camp most of them could not otherwise afford.
